Richard Hughes

Richard Hughes is a composer and amateur pianist born in Mayo in 1996 but now based in Dublin. He began composing at the age of 14. His body of work mainly consists of works for solo piano and string quartets. Richard holds a Diploma of Associate for teaching pianoforte from Victoria College of Music, London which he achieved at age 16.

Richard attended the Irish Composer’s Summer School 2013, held in DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, where he was tutored by Dr.Martin O'Leary, Nicola LeFanu, John McLachlan and Deirdre Gribbin. Here he composed his Piano Trio which was recorded by the Fidelio Trio.
